Commiserate Chicago is an inaugural new media arts festival seeking to reflect on the state of media art.

COSA organized a large gathering of openFrameworks contributors in 2019 to discuss the future of the tool and its community.

The New Media Caucus (NMC) proudly presented the 2019 Symposium and Exhibition, “Border Control” at the University of Michigan, Penny W. Stamps School of Art and Design and the Stamps Gallery. The event was sponsored in part by COSA.

COSA organized Processing Community Day Denver – learning and celebrating creative coding in the local community.

In late February 2016, COSA sponsored a group of openFrameworks (OF) users and educators gathered in Denver Colorado to work on improving the ways people learn and use OF.

In late 2015, COSA hosted 5 of the key developers of Processing, an opensource creative coding language used in classrooms and for artworks around the world. Over the course of 5 days, the developers of Processing were able to complete a major update from version 2 to version 3.
